About
Rev. Heidi Johnston is an ordained minister passionate about integrating psychology, theology, and mental health, and about mentoring the next generation of ministers and chaplains.
Her extensive career spans clinical chaplaincy, church ministry, program development, and private psychotherapy practice.
Rev. Johnston has served as a Clinical Hospital and Psychiatric Chaplain for many years, providing compassionate support and spiritual guidance in hospital settings. Before her chaplaincy years, she ministered in churches, serving as a Youth Minister and Christian Educator in various churches and parachurch mission organizations.
For the past 19 years, she has been affiliated with Sharp HealthCare, where she has served as a Chaplain. Her work spans Sharp Memorial Hospital, Sharp Mesa Vista Psychiatric Hospital, and Sharp McDonald Chemical Dependency Center.
Rev. Heidi Johnston also has experience as a Hospital Chaplain with the Veterans Administration in Hawaii, serving in both In-Patient and Out-Patient settings. She played a key role in establishing the first Pastoral Care and Counseling clinic within the Behavioral Health Program as part of a newly formed Alternative and Complementary Medicine program.
Recently, she transitioned into private practice as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, integrating her expertise in mental health, psychology, and theology.
Heidi is married to her husband, Doug, and she was ordained at Evangelical Covenant Church.
